The FBI fallacy - The Danger of the Entrapment Game
Are they jailing them for their thoughts? We are walking down the path that these thoughts cannot be reformed and re-shaped. We are looking at people with incorrect ideas and then giving them the resources (partnership, material, etc) to make them think that their mode of thinking is legit, because it is being supported by others with "good connections." We have now solidified the idea that they have, albeit falsely. We then say that they were "destined" to carry out the terror attack. Instead of trying to entrap, help identify so that the community can re-engage these individuals in a more meaningful way, with the help of the authorities. This current tactic is creating more fear, hatred and angst on both sides and is not helping to curb an real and imminent threat.
